Wow, can you believe it’s already March? We are to a great start in 2015 thanks to so many of our wonderful volunteers. I love the quote “Encouragement is oxygen for the soul” by John Maxwell. As we move into the final month of Q1 2015, I am encouraged by so many volunteer leaders helping us drive our vision to be the premier resource for advancing and connecting the regional HR community.
I want to take this opportunity to encourage each of you to attend the DallasHR OPEN HOUSE on Thursday March 5, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit the place where all our volunteers work so hard to deliver terrific resources for all our members, as well as network with your peers. Please accept this invitation to let us welcome you to our DallasHR home and personally thank you for your membership. I am looking forward to seeing you there!
With over 1900 members, we have a lot of exciting things going on in the HR community. I am also encouraged about all of the things you can expect to hear more about from our leaders in 2015... Here is just a snapshot below:
- Lynne Stewart, DallasHR President’s theme is “get connected and communicate”. Her team is focused on strategy to connect our members, communicate with our members, and engage our members to get involved. You will be seeing more videos, pictures, and social media communication to help you stay connected. Thank you for helping us drive our vision by sharing with others in the HR community.
- Shawnda Parker, DWFSMA Chair continues to pursue ways to enhance the educational experience with focus on talent acquisition, recruiting, and staffing competencies. This will include a “Recruiting 101” resource for our members, as well as other resources in the talent acquisition community. Thank you for supporting and sharing these important initiatives with others in this space.
- Lety Yanez, The HRSouthwest Conference Director is working with her team to Engage, Empowerment, and Energize our members and guests at the 2015 conference. This team is all about adding value through delivering the first class educational programs, and bringing the mast value while attending one of the largest conferences in the US!
I encourage each of you to talk about these goals and initiatives and how you can help. Together, we can achieve our mission “to provide superior development offerings, quality resources and valuable networking opportunities that both enhance and elevate the competency, reputation, reach and visibility of the HR profession.”
We are DallasHR! I look forward to seeing you on Thursday night!
