It seems like employees needs can most often be divided into one of two categories:
1) Logistical/Functional needs -- internet access, a desk, a day off, etc.
or
2) Emotional/Interpersonal Needs -- trust, to be listened to, to be supported and recognized.
The trick is the providing your employees with both logistical as well as interpersonal needs, without over doing it. The employee needs to feel listened AND responded to. While employees cannot always get everything they ask for, there needs to be the effort and response.
