Writing Resumes that Resonate with Employers

Does your resume disappear in the “black hole”?  Writing an effective resume is more than adding key words, checking for typos, and presenting a professional looking document.  As one of my colleagues says – there are no shortcuts, and there is no silver bullet.  In today’s world everyone has an opinion.  Each day a new article is posted by an “expert” resulting in multiple and inconsistent pieces of advice on how a resume should look, lots of generic basics, and buzz about the latest “trendy” way to present the info to catch someone’s attention.  Every HR professional, recruiter, sales professional and career coach will offer their point of view.  So how do you work through conflicting advice and come up with a resume that will resonate with employers?

As with all marketing it starts with a clear strategy, a carefully crafted individualized value proposition that is consistently articulated in all communications, and a resonating message of relevant information.  Bring your resume to the session and receive clear and constructive feedback from the group, and join a working session to dig deep and deliver personalized solutions.

This discussion will be led by Fiona Hunter.
