Think Like a HR Leader, Act Like a Business Partner
"In a leaky boat no one wants to hear how you plan to get the crew to bail faster".
HR scholars often observe that frequently perceptions of HR's value to the company, and our access to career growth opportunities as HR professionals, is limited simply by how we use HR data as a lens to focus our efforts. In today's session, David Black will first talk about how changing perceptions of our value to the company requires our willingness to go beyond posting with pride HR measures that simply substantiate the degree to which we achieve compliance, maintain control of our processes, and ensure effective service delivery. Then, using real business examples, David will introduce the discipline of using HR data to focus our efforts on improving organizational decisions by discerning causation, identifying "pivot points" that leverage true business results, and focusing HR efforts on the "critical 20%".
The intent of this session is to provoke HR professionals to think about the impact they can have as individuals or teams to deliver real business results no matter what staff or management position they hold.
This discussion will be led by David Black.
