Increase Your Web Presence – LinkedIn, articles, blogs, brag book, Twitter, etc.

How present are you on the Web?  Are you aware of what comes up when people Google your name? Understanding the value and importance of establishing a web presence is a critical in today’s workforce, especially so, if you are in transition.  A well-established web presence coupled with a strong “quality” professional network can dramatically increase your exposure to recruiters and other employers. In fact, a recent SHRM survey indicated that 95% of recruiters are actively recruiting using LinkedIn.  In today’s market your online presence is a necessary component for highlighting your skillsets and marketing yourself as a competitive, savvy professional.


In this session we will be discussing your current online presence, if you have one, and learn ways to improve your presence.  You will learn strategic tips for utilizing web based marketing tools like LinkedIn, blogs, Twitter and brag books to help promote yourself and generate more interest about YOU online.  Our discussion will be interactive so active participation is encouraged.  Please come prepared to share ideas about how you are actively promoting yourself on line, what works and what hasn’t.  At the end of the session you will come away with specific tools to assist in expanding your web presence and promote yourself to other professionals.    

Developing Your Web Presence starts with a clear strategy, a carefully crafted plan of how to promote yourself on line.  Increasing Your Web Presence requires you to make regular updates, adding and / making changes in order to keep your profile current and interesting.  Please come prepared to ask questions, take notes and share your experiences with your peers.

Eligibility to attend JobLink meetings:

JobLink is free and open to individuals who are currently unemployed or who have been notified that their jobs are ending and who are seeking employment in the field of human resources. (Consultants, either established or starting their own business, are encouraged to join the DallasHR Consultants PEG).

You do not need to be a member of DallasHR to attend. Attire is business casual. Each meeting features a program on a job search topic along with networking opportunities.

First time attendees are encouraged to arrive earlier (around 8:00am) for an orientation and to meet the JobLink co-chair.
